In the mid-1900s, many
of the Jewish faith, along with others, were persecuted for their appearance
and beliefs, and were sent to concentration camps under the reign of Adolf
Hitler. Frequently, those who spoke out against him were mistreated as well.
Nevertheless, this is not an excuse for the citizens of that time frame to turn
a blind eye towards the horrendous events that occurred in the concentration
camps. It was, and still is, the responsibility of human beings to speak up for
the rights of those being persecuted, despite the consequences.
